Ectoplasmic Summer is proud to announce their second release in 2021; Unk’s “Annoying Sounds to Piss People Off”, released as a limited edition cassette.

As the title unsubtly points out, “Annoying Sounds…” is an uncompromising sonic compilation of no-input feedback, fuzzed-out percussion, and over-modulated ascension prayers. Each track is performed as one-takes, embracing the expression of failure and unpredictability.

Amongst the songs include exercises of orchestrating feedback from a no-input mixer and handheld speaker-to-speaker device (‘Nuisance’, ‘Displeasure’), as well as aggressive, hard-kicking percussive slabs (‘Thorns in One’s Flesh, ‘Burr Under Her Saddle’). The album closes with a boat ride through the dark waters of hellish limbo, filled with endless dread (‘Pain in the Buttub’).

Unk is a Hong Kong-born artist, currently residing in Penryn, Cornwall. “Annoying Sounds to Piss People Off” is their third album release for cassette, and is perhaps their most personal and introspective to date.
